How to use your iPhone - Tips - Send free iPhone SMS messages via AIM

So you have your sexy new iPhone and want to send SMS messages without paying the extra fee for the messages. No problem at all. You can use the free AOL AIM application to send and receive SMS. Here is how. A direct link to the free app is in the Additional Resources box below
Step 1 iPhone Home ScreenGet the AIM app from the App store and install it - Link is below in resources

Step 2 iPhone - Settings screen with AIMGo to your Settings Page - Scroll Down to AIM

Step 3 iPhone - AIM settingsEnter your screenname and password, you can also edit other settings you like

Step 4 iPhone - Home Screen with AIMReturn to home screen and select the AIM app

Step 5 iPhone with AIM buddy list Pick the Buddy List tab at the bottom

Step 6 iPhone - AIM OnlineTap Online to go to active people

Step 7 iPhone - Add BuddyTap edit

Step 8 iPhone - Add BuddyTap +

Step 9 iPhone - Add BuddyOn the Add Buddy screen - under screenna me put in the phone number like this +10001112222 - so its +1 then the full phone number - then save at top right

Step 10 iPhone - Select Buddy to send SMS tooSelect that buddy

Step 11 iPhone - AIM SMS message writtenSend a message

Step 12 iPhone - SMS received from AIMThis is just a pic of how it looks receiving the message on an iPhone
